Survey on violence experienced by school support staff

5 May 2022

The problems of violence experienced by school support staff have been regularly decried. Whether it be physical or non-physical violence, visible physical injuries or abusive language, none of it is acceptable.

We tend to trivialize certain gestures or certain words we experience in our school environment, but they have an impact on school support staff.  They can come from anyone, from students, parents, managers and sometimes even colleagues.  Wherever they come from, they must stop.

Some workplaces have implemented plans to combat bullying and violence, but many do not seem to solve the problem. What exactly is going on in our schools?

This is what we want to find out with a comprehensive survey by the Ad hoc recherche group, carried out in collaboration with the Fédération du personnel de soutien scolaire.

The survey closed on June 30.
